The week Hollywood and the UN share a calendar
Headlines aggregated from industry trades and linked to their original publishers. PR STARPOWER original reporting and analysis appears below.
The Legendary Ladies of Jazz — Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Dinah Washington, Peggy Lee, Dakota Staton, Gloria Lynne, Lena Horne, Eartha Kitt and Ella Fitzgerald — at Catalina Jazz Club, Los Angeles, Saturday 26 September. Doors 7pm, show 8:30pm, $62.15–$72.45. Musical direction by Josh Nelson. Special guest Thomasina Gross Sings Eartha.
UN High-Level Week, Climate Week, the Global Citizen Festival and the MTV VMAs all land in the same seven days in late September — on opposite coasts. The industry is treating them as separate calendars. They are not, and the decision window closes in early September.
Eleven nominations, forty-four years into a career. Touring saw it first, catalogue funds second, beauty third. Awards recognition is the last domino — and the correct reading is durability, not nostalgia.
PR STARPOWER has announced its representation of recording artist, actress and author Freda Payne. The two-time gold record artist appeared this year as cover star of both Decree Entertainment Magazine and Courageous Woman Magazine, and was among the most talked-about presences of Oscars week. She continues to perform to sold-out rooms including Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles and Blues Alley in Washington. Her full press kit is available here.
